Hi,
That sounds like a good plan (sorry to hear about the instrument issues though). The peptides in powder form should be stored at at -20C for longer periods (we usually keep them at -80C, but Anaspec reports -20 as sufficient), but can be shipped at room temperature. Should we still ship them to Missoula?
Yes, I did check my LIMS account and could log in without issues, but I was having issues connecting using VNC, but I will try to download Ultrascan and connect my database as suggested. Will let you know if I run into any issues.
Best,
Josefine

Hi Josefine,
I am glad to hear you guys figured out a way to prepare stable and colloidal systems of abeta and LL37,
I would be happy to help you with AUC to measure the LL37/abeta complex. Does ammonium hydroxide absorb in the low UV? If not, we can stick to low concentrations at low UV wavelengths and measure at low concentration. With a detailed dissolving protocol sending the powder should work fine. It may be a while before we can get to it since one of our machines is down right now. I would recommend sending the material to Missoula, since it is stable (it should be fine at 4C, correct?). Then I could pick it up the next time I am down here (driving back to Lethbridge today).
Regarding the UltraScan access, you can either install UltraScan on your system (https://www.ultrascan3.aucsolutions.com/download.php) and then connect it to your account in the CCH database ("Database login info" once you are logged in), or via VNC directly on our server. I could help you with either approach over Zoom if needed. It is possible we will have to recreate your account because inactive accounts get removed after a while. I checked, and your LIMS account with all of your data is still active and ready to go.
Let me know how you want to proceed.
Regards, -Borries
